Kenny Palmer presents Shattered Sun (Anniversary Remixes) on Trancespired Recordings
Time for another Anniversary Remix release where we celebrate tracks which made it into the Beatport Hype Top 10. This time we roll back to Kenny Palmer’s “Shattered Sun” and what a treat we have for you!
First up on remix duties we are utterly delighted to bring you the talents of Scottish trance legend, David Forbes. This guy needs zero introduction – if you ain’t heard of him then where have you been! Gracing the likes of A State Of Trance and with releases on ALL the major labels, its a real delight to have him on board. For his remix, David doesn’t hold back – bombs are set off from the outset. Hard, dark and relentless kicks, bass and fx drag you by the throat right up the to the break where you find a bit of respite with Kenny’s awesome melody. Don’t get too comfortable though – the fantastically reverbed vox soon open the door for more mayhem as the drop provides ample ammunition for dancefloor destruction. We can see this remix destined for many playlists round the globe.
Also on the release is a fantastic remix by label boss DJ Ten. Turning in arguably his finest work to date, he also takes Kenny’s original to tougher terrain. Thumping kicks, tough throbbing bass, intricate percussion, acid goodness and oodles of FX take you up to the break where Kenny’s fantastic melody takes centre-stage. The solid drop sits perfect for dancefloor effect and the main melody reappears later to lighten the load. If David’s version is too hard for you then perhaps this is the one for you.
