During a busy year of worldwide shows, including Brazil, Canada, the UK, and the US, the GRAMMY-nominated founders of Anjunabeats, Jono, Paavo, and Tony, were hard at work in the studio on the next volume of their ‘Tranquility Base’ EP series.

The EP series’ name references A&B’s beloved Tranquility Base alias, which was revered for contributing to the trance genre, including iconic records such as ‘Surrender,’ ‘Oceanic,’ and ‘Razorfish.’

Following the enormous success of Volume 1, with EP singles ‘Angry JP8’ and ‘500’, both hitting Beatport Trance #1, Above & Beyond are back with the second set of five club-dominating instrumental records.

Above & Beyond’s ‘React,’ the bassline-heavy single from ‘Tranquility Base Vol. 2’, was released on November 1. The second single, a euphoric classic trance track titled ‘Another Breakdown,’ was released on November 20.

The full EP arrives after debuting worldwide at Above & Beyond Group Therapy 600 in Mexico City, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and the Dreamstate SoCal festival.

The EP features three additional tracks: ‘Hackney Siren,’ an electric melting pot of trance, acid, and breakbeat layered with piano chords reminiscent of 90s piano house; ‘From Grey To Light,’ another experimental production from the trio featuring trippy acid baselines and layers of piano chords, and ‘Chasing Highs,’ a classic trance track that delivers the sound reminiscent of the early 2000s club era.

‘Tranquility Base Vol. 2’ EP is out now on Anjunabeats.

Above & Beyond, or Jono, Tony, and Paavo, as they are better known to their legions of fans worldwide, have been at the forefront of electronic dance music for two decades.

Founders of the iconic Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep record labels and hosts of a weekly radio show that reaches millions of dance lovers every Friday (Group Therapy), the trio have earned two GRAMMY™️nominations for anthems ‘Northern Soul’ feat. Richard Bedford and We’re All We Need feat. Zoë Johnston. In 2018, the band’s fourth electronic album, Common Ground, debuted at number three on the Official Billboard Album Chart.

Described by UK music bible Q Magazine as “the world’s biggest cult band,” Above & Beyond’s enviable list of sold-out shows includes headline performances at historic venues like Madison Square Garden, NYC, The Hollywood Bowl, The Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall London, and Red Rocks Amphitheater, as well as record-breaking turnouts for their own festival events on LA’s Huntington Beach and at The Gorge Amphitheater in Washington State.

Songwriters first, producers second, Above & Beyond’s unwavering commitment to their craft has fuelled a career that many electronic artists today might only dream of: four acclaimed electronic studio albums, 16 compilation albums (Anjunabeats Volume series), two ‘acoustic’ albums, and a stand-alone album for yoga and meditation – not to mention innumerable club cuts and dance remixes.
