Dance Music Staple ARUNA Drops First Mix Compilation; Debuts in Top 40 of the iTunes Top 200 Dance Albums Chart!
Recent years have seen many trends come and go along with the many artists that latch on to them. In the seemingly male-dominated dance music scene, few female talents have evolved beyond the mic as the ‘featured’ songstress to become branded, recognizable entities with large followings and an arsenal of respected turntable talents and polished productions to their name.
Since the mid-2000’s LA-based ARUNA has made such strides, following career-breaking success spurring from hit collaborations with Ferry Corsten & Armin van Buuren, and self-penning hits for some of the world’s global superstars, including the RIAA®-certified triple platinum selling ‘Hannah Montana’ soundtrack for Miley Cyrus.
More recently, ARUNA has become a lauded name known for more than such, standing tall as one of the sole female artists to consistently chart in the iTunes Top 200 Podcasts with her hotter-than-hot biweekly radio show, ‘The Hot List,’ which feature her keen mixing skills replete with twists and turns, as well as debuting her own self-produced solo records that have consecutively peaked within the top 3 tiers of the Beatport Top 10 (Trance).
The Berklee College of Music grad has made multiple guest mix appearances on Above & Beyond’s ‘Trance Around The World,’ and later the mammoth ‘Group Therapy Radio,’ establishing her as the first solo female act to helm guest mix slots on both shows.
In tandem with her hotly-tipped radio show, ARUNA has just dropped ‘The Hot List: Volume 1,’ her first mix compilation on Enhanced Music, with a strong Top 40 debut on the iTunes US Top 200 Dance Albums chart at #36. Spanning over 20 tracks, ‘The Hot List: Volume 1,’ set is a highly charged, no-holds-barred thrill ride, showcasing Aruna’s fiercely female take on a mix that takes listeners on an aural journey starting with the the sweeping sounds of her recent ‘The Other Shore’ collaboration with Aly & Fila, to tracks which represent highlights of key episodes of The Hot List, a dash of current exclusives, 2 brand new Aruna singles, and a few fan favourite mashups that will leave longtime fans clamouring for another taste.
The Hot List: Volume I’ is available in digital and limited edition signed physical CD formats — the latter which includes a special note from the record spinning-chanteuse dedicated to her loyal fanbase (#Arunatics). Priced at a mere ten pounds with no shipping cost, The Hot List Volume 1 makes for the perfect stocking stuffer and further cements ARUNA’s impending legacy as one of the most successful female artists in dance music.
