Killick presents Hoyer / Jeto on Create Music / Black Hole Recordings

Another debut release on Create, this time from UK-based duo Killick. The first half of this 2 track EP is ‘Hoyer’; a tech-trancer that get’s straight to the action with a rather large bass drop. Grooved percussion teases the track along till the breakdown where big synth plucks filter up and progressively crescendo melodically. The break flows into a drum build, and a final snare-fill heralds the return of the bass drop.

On the flip, ‘Jeto’ is a more rolling affair with a constant bassline and plenty of intricate percussion. A pluck melody joins the bassline in the breakdown. There’s a brief hold while the bass drops out before the kick pounds in for an underground drop. Back comes the bass and percussion before an unexpected moment of beauty, a 2nd breakdown that briefly teleports you somewhere else. ‘Jeto’ is a heads-down track reminiscent of the good old days of clubbing when it was all about your feet not your hands. We say ‘more please’.
